Tony Klagenberg of AMI sent me today’s Wordless Wednesday photo, which looks like it was taken in a gas station or convenience store located in an area where crime is a concern.  I’m wondering whether there was a conscious decision to keep the original panic hardware in addition to the added exit alarm (thinking it would provide additional security), or whether the installer just failed to remove the existing hardware.

Regardless of the reason for the current situation, doors in a means of egress must unlatch with one releasing motion; there are very few exceptions to this rule.

Do you remember what the exceptions are?
