As many of you know, last year Allegion announced the acquisition of STANLEY Access Technologies, a leading manufacturer, installer, and service provider of automatic doors in North America.  I will be sharing more code information related to automatic doors in the coming months, but when I saw the video below, I knew it would be my first post to introduce the company and their products to the readers of iDigHardware.

Over the past few decades, tremendous progress has been made toward building a more accessible world. As ADA requirements, assistive technology, and social awareness continue to progress, so must our resolve to challenge the status quo.  By keeping accessibility at the forefront of our minds, we can start to examine how buildings and businesses can do a better job of welcoming persons of all abilities.

When it comes to ADA compliance, there are minimum requirements, and there are real-life requirements.  New Horizons Village understands that there is no 1-size-fits-all approach when it comes to accessibility. With a community that is home to 101 adults with varying degrees of physical disabilities, the staff of New Horizons Village are experts in accessibility because they understand the true needs of their tenants.  STANLEY Access Technologies is proud to partner with New Horizons Village to continue this very important conversation and advance the mission of accessibility for all.
