I saw this “fix” during my travels in Indiana and Pennsylvania over the last couple of weeks. Any theories about the reasoning behind the pulls shown in these Fixed-it Friday photos? I have no ideas.

Cover one of the extra holes they drilled??!
Spare??
Back up to the bigger pull??
Some darn AHJ made them install it??!
Wheelchair convenience pull or for kids.
I agree with Carol
I also agree with this… When my oldest was first old enough to start eating sandwiches, she LOVED going to subway (still one of her favorite fast food places 10 years later). This particular one is probably in a very small kid friendly area, so they chose to join in to try to encourage more patrons.
Short People Problems. High population of little people in the area, I guess.
COVID inspired homebrew toe pull.
covid pull so you can use foot
Was this at the end of a yellow brick road ?
COVID You can use your foot to open instead of hands
I believe it is a door stop so the upper pull does not hit the glass
Hmmm…I think you’re right!!!

Good call!!!
Agreed.
The crookedness is just to throw you off the scent.
By George, I think your right.
Homemade foot pull.
Judging by the rough edge of the lower pull I’d say it was one continuous pull once upon a time. It looks like it’s been cut. The store owner must have wanted a pull for another door and thought this was an easy way to get one.
Looks like a Quick ix for Foot Pulls…….
Oompa Loompas
I am in PA and the only time I saw this was on a pair of doors where someone lost a handle, and cut the one they had in half to use on both doors, never on a single door
During early Covid I saw a few places marketing a foot-pull, basically a pull installed on the bottom surface so one could avoid touching the regular pull with a hand.
I also agree with Carol. Perhaps there is an elementary school or kindergarten nearby.
OK, which tricksy hobbit did _this_?!
