Sometimes it can be tough to get hardware finishes to match correctly, given the varying base materials and finish processes. Tim Weller of Allegion sent me today’s Fixed-it Friday photos, showing a “fix” where someone was obviously paying attention to detail. 🙂

They could have used brown duct tape.
I think they needed the wood grain duct tape. And a lesson in reading instructions to mount the arm in the correct location.
Looks like they replaced an existing closure that may have been thru-bolted or other laminated damage. Still did not set or adjust the closure arm correctly.
Poor closer installation and adjustment as well.

That’s an odd looking color for a wood door core. If it’s a fire door, I hope these genius’s used UL approved fire-rated duct tape. (sarcasm)
