I received today’s Wordless Wednesday photo from Michael Festa of Island Wide Lock. It was taken back in “normal times” when kids were in school. The main entrance/exit of this high school was blocked in order to build a security vestibule, but there was no signage to direct people to other exits. Just a friendly reminder to go one step further and ensure that the egress requirements are met while exits are being modified or other construction projects are in progress.

Wow! Those exit devices are not even close to level! Installation skills are fading In the trade.
Disgraceful and dangerous!!!
I am assuming that with 0 occupancy they can do whatever they want…. who is going to check they are all in lockdown or self isolation. That said it’s wrong at any rate … if they had the correct hardware in the first place would this be necessary?
Hi David –
The school was open when the photo was taken. It was not during lockdown/quarantine. It was at the beginning of the school year.

Would you regard the situation as satisfactory if there had been an illuminated LED arrow affixed to the side of the exit sign, and large signage on the door with arrows, assuming the alternate exits would have been sufficient to meet egress requirements?
