A few weeks ago I posted about an upcoming online training session, and several of you asked for a link to the recording. The webinar was yesterday, and I added a link to the recording on the original post (click here).

What I don’t understand about today’s Wordless Wednesday photos is that the clipboards appear to be for recording “door checks”…what are they checking for?? And the stickers don’t seem like a good solution for egress control. :-\
Thank you to Marc Facca of Allegion for the photos!

OK, they have not come by on the hourly check and signed the sheet, so all that stuff was put there with in the last hour!
I am sure it will be cleared, so the person can reach the check off sheet.
It’s handy the daily checklist clipboards are on the doors.
Even the fire extinguisher is blocking the CLEAR WIDTH of the door!!!!
Looks like at one time the doors had mags on them, delayed egrees that was removed? Now it is just a different kind of delayed egress…
The million $ question is….did Marc say anything? Remember…if you see something…say something!! Don’t be embarrassed.
Nobody cares until the lawsuits start to fly.
The exit device looks like it has hex key dogging.
Maybe from when/if it did have mags.
At least it looks like a soft barrier to exit…..I wonder if there’s a definition for that. Sigh.
A Nerf barrier to exit?
I think what we see here are the end result of many spankings over years from Fire Inspectors. First one did not like the Mags so they were removed. Loss prevention did the detection tape. To comply with another year when they had a blocked exit the signs went up. I would guess 2 different years because the signs don’t match. The clipboards may have been a 3rd year by still being blocked of in response to loss prevention and the store manager saying “Sorry I will make sure they are checked everyday”
Cant wait to see next year we might get the painted floor with the words saying don’t put stuff here.
