Ross Nudelman of Allegion sent me today’s Wordless Wednesday photo. This is the only door leading to a small auditorium located in the children’s section of the local library. I don’t have a problem with the castle theme, since this is the outside of the door. Anyone see the issue?

Just the chain thingy, somoeone May latch.
Chain guard is blocking the only path of egress
auxiliary lock on the outside preventing safe egress
The chain on the door? Doors are supposed to be able to be operated from both sides.
I see two things that give me pause. One is the door chain, and the other is how does that pull ring operate the latch? Unless the latch has been removed.
It appears people in the library are able to lock people in the auditorium.
Looks like someone could get locked in with the chain lock. I’m sure someone who knows the relevant codes better could explain what code that violates if I’m correct about it.
…..besides the chain on the OUTSIDE of the door that can be used to keep someone INSIDE!!!
Someone could lock the door from the outside!!
Would it be the secondary locking device used to lock kids in the room in the upper left corner?
I see the door chain which is illegal . Don’t know if there is panic hardware either
That ‘security door chain’ could prevent egress and should be removed.
The slide bolt – for the obvious reasons.
The chain lock at the top of the door prevent egress from within the e room
Entrapment. Bad idea.
I doubt that door handle meets accessibility code
Obvs that chain lock is a no-no. Bu is that door louver upside-down too?
Yeah, chain guard.
YES! Let’s lock all the children in like a UFC fight! Last one standing wins. Please note extremely heavy sarcasm.
Lol. Best comment!
