Not only is it just wrong how could you not remove the thumb turn.The extra locking device does not comply with all known codes .in life safey and Barrier free requiring special knowledge.
Nah, There’s plenty of codes in the US that allow for secondary locking on egress when the building isn’t occupied by the public, or at all. This could be perfectly complaint, if painful. It certainly doesn’t excuse the hack job on the top, but a thumb turn would prevent a reach under attack.
I respectfully disagree…this application is not allowed by the model codes. If you have an example of a code that would allow this application, please send it to me at lori.greene@allegion.com.
