Today’s Fixed-it Friday photos were posted by Jerry Cartmill on the tech forum of the Clearstar Security Network. This door is on an auto repair shop that was broken into, and it looks like they have taken matters into their own hands (Jerry is not responsible for this installation). To lock the door, they turn the bar and then tighten it down against the frame using the crank – the door is reinforced to prevent it from being crushed. They get an A for creativity and execution, but hopefully it’s not a required means of egress.

I wonder if the pulleys are UL listed for exiting??
This is great ( as long as it isn’t egress) what bothers me is the missing screw on the frames dimple.

You would think that a dead bolt would have been installed or a Sargent and Greenleaf panic exit device, a simple deadlatch lock?
