I saw this segment on Good Morning America yesterday – thank you to everyone who sent me the link!  I agree that these doors are “an extremely discreet solution” as mentioned in the video, but the last time I checked on the feasibility of using bullet-resistant doors on classrooms, the objections were that they are too heavy and too expensive.  According to this manufacturer’s website, these doors are 50% lighter than other solutions, with a UL 725 Level-8 ballistic rating.  The GMA story reports that the cost is $4,000/door.

So, as the GMA report asks…”Are ‘bulletproof’ doors the future of school safety?”
