Boat lock?!
It’s a rim lock. But I can’t quite make out the name on the key cylinder–it’s likely to be the same manufacturer. The slot-head screws indicate that it might be from the 50’s or older.
Yes, it’s a rim lock, but which one?
The cylinder looks like a small format interchangeable core.
The rim cylinder could be replaced with another if they wanted to rekey the lock.
Us old guys in the shop are leaning toward something from the Folger Adam basement. Latch profile and knob rose profile are similar to old Sargent or Corbin/Russwin. Good “Tuesday test” question.
Nothing that is extant as far as I know.
It’s maybe a old Legge rim nightlatch from England…..
It’s been awhile but I have seen these used as a day lock on the inner door of a safe deposit vault, but for the life of me I can’t remember who manufactured them.
If this helps anyone, I found this: http://www.shipstoremalaysia.com/product_details/view/711
It wouldn’t be an old Sargent&Greenleaf lock would it?
We have some old S&G 1950’s panic bars and the latch looks very similar
