Rich McKie sent me today’s Wordless Wednesday photo of a high school lobby, which was being prepared for a “Dry Grad” overnight graduation party coordinated by a parent committee. The plan was to host 200-300 students for the all-night party, and unfortunately the decorating plans included covering the egress doors and panic hardware with flammable opaque decorative plastic sheets and hanging black curtains around the lobby which obscured sight lines to the illuminated exit sign. 🙁

My daughters school had one, when she graduated
Mainly a few blocked exits, no flammable stuff
Glad they are protecting them from booze and drugs, but not life safety
Maybe we just need to give every parent and school administrator in the country a pamphlet called “How not to get your kids’ party shut down by the fire marshal”? Things like this might happen less often…
HA – that’s a good idea! 🙂
