Would turn it down for putting the display on the panic hardware!!!
Should make a simple rule that all emergency egress doors are to be painted fire engine red with out obstruction or alteration. Life safety should not take a back seat to design.
How do Building Inspectors allow this? The only thing that’s obvious is the violation.
I’m hoping the code violation message gets back to the designer (who ever decided to put the mural in this location). Usually, the production person takes the heat, while the highly paid designer remains clueless, and the problem repeats.
I have been asked before by designers for exit device that not so “obvious”, more “designer”………ie she didn’t the exit device to break her beautiful design..craziness
Yes, designer want Exit Devices to disappear or be so minimal they hardly see them. Designers don’t understand what the Exit Device is for and yes there design comes FIRST. Yes I have been asked about this new trend of using photo vinyl wall covering and they want to use them over doors as well. Just tell them to get the AHJ to OK it’s use and I will go along. This may be a use for photo-luminescent needs to be used.
This picture of the girl with a unique name tag has me wondering how long it will be before “Exit” becomes a popular name for a girl. That would be a real conversation starter. “Hi, my name is Exit Barbaree. Nice to meet you!”
Wait! There’s a door there?!
