Even though automatic operators have been available from LCN for longer than I can remember, I still get questions about which one to use where, why to choose one over the other, and pneumatic vs. electric operation. The video below is a new one in our Intro to Door Hardware series, which includes some basics on the various LCN operators. A previous video (here) discusses some of the applicable requirements of the codes and standards.
The rest of our whiteboard animation videos can be found on the Allegion Training page, or on the Videos page of iDigHardware.com.

We’ve supplied a lot of 4600 and 4800 operators around the Colorado Front Range area and they’ve always worked well. Even a mile high. Once you get into the mountains, however, the pneumatic operators don’t work well with the thinner atmosphere (using the control boxes with the built-in compressors that is). So 4600 it is. Really nice to have both options. And the Senior Swings? Hospitals, hospitals and more hospitals. Solid.
