My kids are in drama – I get it. Sometimes they go a little overboard. But I would have to step in before it got this far…
Did you know??? NFPA 101 – The Life Safety Code states, “It shall be the duty of principals, teachers, or staff to inspect all exit facilities daily to ensure that all stairways, doors, and other exits are in proper condition.” I think someone missed this one.
Thank you to Robin Greenberg of Studio G Architects for the photo!

I think that it’s sweet (sarcasm) there is no panic hardware and these stair doors have kick-down stops. Just add wire glass and they’re batting 1000.
Guess that they need to click their ruby slippers to safely transverse that stairwell.
Where’s the “Bell out of order. Please knock.” sign?
When I saw your comment I broke out laughing – Just like in the movie! Thanks for the precious moment.
Would like to see the hardware on the other side of these doors – hope there are closers! Why the kick-down stops – These are fire rated doors correct? They can not be held open. Why no panic devices and what happened to the Exit Sign – must be covered by one of the Emerald City Green or Yellow Cardboard cut outs. Obviously Principals, Teachers and Staff can not be required to inspect all exit facilities daily to ensure that all stairways, doors, and other exits are in proper condition. They are not trained and have no knowledge of what to look for. If that is indeed part of NFPA 101 – we have a problem Houston.
