I can’t believe it has been 10 years since the morning I woke up, turned on the TV, and saw the aftermath of the deadly fire that killed 100 people and injured 200 others at the Station Nightclub in West Warwick, Rhode Island. The recent news story below shocks me but it also underscores the fact that although we react when tragedy strikes, we often let our guard down as time goes on. We have to remain vigilant or history will repeat itself again and again.
A new movie will be posted online in segments starting February 20th, 2013, the 10th anniversary of the fire. You can view them on the website of The Station Movie, or on Youtube. Here is the trailer:
UPDATE: Here is the first installment of the movie – Gina Russo – Black Rain. There is a warning at the beginning of the video, which made me worry that it included the footage of the people trapped in the doorway – excruciating to watch. But the graphic images are of burns suffered by Gina Russo. It is well worth watching, if only to keep the memories alive and keep us vigilant.
Additional clips are available on TheStationWebSeries Youtube channel. I will post more movie segments as they go online.

Thanks for posting this, Lori — it’s more than ‘one more awful story’ now, it’s real and personal. Wishing Gina peace.
Keep up the good work Lori
Thanks Jim!
