Quannapowitt Mag-Lock

Today my oldest daughter and I participated along with some of my coworkers and some of our compañeros from Trane, in the Quannapowitt Take the Lake 5K.  It was a beautiful morning and we walked/ran in honor of some of our friends and coworkers who have battled cancer or are still fighting.

One of the office buildings allowed the participants in to use their restrooms, and I noticed their method of unlocking the exterior doors – by disabling the mag-locks with duct tape reminiscent of MacGyver (my hero…sigh).  What I didn’t notice until I looked closely at the photos was that they have attached velcro to the mag-lock and the duct tape, so they can re-use it!  Seriously?  There are mysterious and magical ways to unlock a mag-lock without duct tape!  If you’re using the MacGyver method, call me and I’ll let you in on the secret!

very interesting. Makes you wonder what some people are thinking. Is this American Ingenuity or the Opposite.

Surely an on/off switch would have sufficed?
