The door in these Wordless Wednesday photos has 7 surface bolts, an exit alarm, a door position switch, AND a rolling door. Wow.
Thanks to 2 Alarm Fireground Training and Lieutenant Thomas Kenney of the Hyannis Fire Department, for permission to post these photos.

someone put a lot of work in to making a bad door
Prototype for the next generation of classroom doors?
Where to start?
They missed putting a bolt into the threshold.
Surprised the closer still works with all the extra weight.
Bet the hinges were not reinforced to resist the 2×4.
Is there an Exit Sign?
Bet there aren’t any instructions taped to the roll up door.
You have to love the 2×4 wedged in there. Does wonders for the hinges, I bet…
“Wow” sums this up very well, Lori!
…when you absolutely, positively don’t want ANYONE getting in…
Nine operations. You have to get through that roll-up door first!
True!
Also the bulb was burned out in the EXIT sign.
Hyannis? I would have guessed Grand Concourse
What door? There ain’t no door here!
Now this is an opening that intelligently sacrifices life safety for security! Although does that exit device even latch? Hard to tell, maybe it is dogged?
A Securitech MP 4-point auxiliary Police Lock would have provided multi-point locking while one turn of the interior knob would project or retract all of the bolts simultaneously!
The exit alarm is a nice touch! That will scare them away!!
Is this on Trump’s hairspray closet??? Ha!
