Does this coffee shop exit look weird to anyone else, or is it just me? Any theories about what happened here? Thank you to Charles Anderson for today’s Fixed-it Friday photo!

Having worked in Retail, i’ve seen this before. It appears that the Leasing Agent subdivided an existing space without regard for the existing door location.
This is a C R Laurence/Blumcraft/Oldcastle full glass door with panic device hardware. Rockwood also has the same hardware available.
Judging by the furniture arrangement in front of and the sealant between wall & glass, I’d say they just decided to ignore the exit. I believe this scenario happens more in restaurants than any other user group.
I would guess that this space or the adjoining space needed just a little bit more room. Instead of kotching the wall or moving the door, they cheated!!! Besides……NOBODY WILL EVER USE THAT DOOR!!! At least that’s what they tell everyone!!!
It looks like the space used to be larger an they added a wall splitting the existing exit opening from pair doors to two singles. There’s probably another door on the other side of that wall.
Looks like a Tempered Glass Door (Herculite) covered in opaque film . With a CRL push handle might be a top rod lock unit. The small table obstruction has got to go, as well the exit sign should be lowered
Larger space improperly divided
Wonder what happened to the clear opening width?
