A few weeks ago, a local mechanic “fixed” the ‘manguera cuerpo aceleracion’ in my Honda Pilot using the same black tape found in these Fixed-it Friday photos. Speaking from experience, this repair method – which apparently spans across multiple industries – does not last long.

At least at one point they tried to match the finish of the push plate to the panic and the duct tape color to the pad on the rail but they were way off with the closer.
a good maintenance man only needs two things
1) duct tape – if it moves and it is not supposed to
2) WD-40 – if it supposed to moves and it does not
Amateurs.
The way to watergate a top latch like that is to wrap around the entire top latch enclosure. A hotel manager’s business card from the front desk will give the tape the strength to not have the latch punch through.
Have you ever noticed, nearly all Hotel maintenance personnel have a roll of duct tape on their person!! They don’t carry a simple screwdriver but they are quick on the duct tape!!!
