Each month, I’ve been sharing a video from NFPA’s “Learn Something New” series.  Although the video below isn’t about doors, it caught my attention because a) it’s construction-related, and b) I’ve been looking into different ways to build an off-grid house on some land we bought near our favorite camping spot.  I don’t think a 3D-printed house will be the best choice for that particular location, but I can definitely see the benefits of this type of construction depending on the needs and the site.

The question is…are 3D-printed buildings safe and code-compliant?

The video from NFPA is embedded below, and there’s more information in an article in this month’s NFPA Journal called Printed Buildings, by Angelo Verzoni.

What do you think?  Would you live in a 3D-printed house?

P.S.  Here’s the view from my future front porch!  Maybe I should start hosting code retreats!  🙂
