Next week, I’ll be in Cleveland for DHI conNextions 2019 – the annual conference for Door Security + Safety Professionals. If you’re planning to attend the conference – great! I’ll see you there!
If you have not yet made plans to attend and you’re in the Cleveland area, I just found out about a great opportunity for you to attend our Code Update Roundtable!
The Code Update Roundtable will be held on Thursday, November 7th, from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. (Huntington Convention Center – Room 21). Each attendee will receive a partial copy of the 2018 IBC, which will be used to find answers to realistic code questions working as a group. Work groups will be facilitated by my coworkers and myself. Together we’ll answer the questions, discuss the applicable code sections, review the intent of the requirements, and see what has changed from one version of the International Building Code to the next. It’s a great way to get familiar with the IBC, and to find out what’s new.
This class is included with the all-access pass, BUT – DHI has also allowed me to offer the class to people who purchase the one-day exhibit hall pass! For DHI members, the cost of the one-day exhibit hall pass for Thursday the 7th (including the Code Update Roundtable) is $25 in advance, $35 if purchased on-site. The price for non-members is $35 in advance, $45 on-site. The one-day pass includes access to the exhibit hall AND the After-Party at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (RSVP here, and don’t forget to bring your badge to the party). Note that the day passes do not include the educational sessions – EXCEPT the Code Update Roundtable.
2 AIA HSW credits and 3 DHI continuing education points will be awarded for completing the Code Update Roundtable.
If you’re interested in purchasing a one-day pass and attending the Code Update Roundtable, here’s what to do:
Step 1 – Visit dhiconnextions.com to purchase your day pass for $25/$35 (the pass can also be purchased on-site for $35/$45). Click “Register Now!”, register as a member or non-member, then choose “Exhibit Hall Only.” This pass gives you access to the exhibit hall, but will also allow you to attend the Code Update Roundtable as long as you complete Step 3 below.
Step 2 – RSVP for the After-Party on Thursday if you would like to attend.
Step 3 – Fill out the form below and click submit to register for the code update class. You must do this to get your name on the attendee list if you are purchasing an exhibit hall pass – you do not have to fill out this form if you are attending the entire conference.
