On Tuesday, March 19th, there will be two opportunities to earn AIA continuing education credits and learn about an important code-related topic. My coworker, Glen Buckner, will be conducting a webinar to discuss how to keep building occupants safe during a tornado. The webinar will cover the key code provisions and testing standards that apply to Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) community tornado safe rooms and the key criteria to consider when specifying windstorm doors for life safety.
Glen’s experience includes over 26 years of architectural practice and 6 years in the door hardware industry. His thesis project at Clemson University researched the April 3, 1974, F5 tornado that devastated the town of Brandenburg, Kentucky.
The webinars will be held from 10-11 a.m. and 2-3 p.m. Eastern. If you’d like to register for either of these time slots, click the links below.
