Here’s a little holiday leftover…Ed Shimpock of Seven Oaks Hardware sent me this Fixed-it Friday photo of a pair of doors that were tied shut to prevent latecomers from entering during the holiday church service. It’s scary to think about what could have happened.

Holy smoke !
Glad no one was hurt….
The irony meter is off the chart right now.
Dumb happens everywhere
Ah, yes, memories. The wedding planner for a relative’s wedding tried to lock out a family member that drove several hundred miles, because they were late.
As for this, whose sin is greater; being a late comer, or trapping the congregation?
Not to mention the message this sends from those that are supposed to be accepting people as they are.
At our church, we leave our doors open so that any latecomer can enter when they get there, and our ushers hand them an Order of Service so they can follow along. I guess we think “better late than never”. Please keep up the good work, Lori! I learn something from every email that I get. Thanks!
Thank you!

As one of the oldest of a large family that was constantly late to church and often received a grimace from our pastor as we all (loudly I’m sure) shuffled into one of the back rows of the sanctuary – this would have met with a giant “woo-hoo – let’s go home!”…….. not funny in terms of egress considerations, but truthful!
It is kind of ‘walking deadish’ if you ask me…
