Today’s Wordless Wednesday photo came from the New York Daily News. The full article about the high-end furniture store being cited by OSHA for blocked egress routes and propped open fire doors can be read here.
“Burns, smoke inhalation, electric shock and falling merchandise aren’t chic. Blocked and impeded exits can cost employees their lives.” – Kay Gee, OSHA Area Director (the OSHA news release is here)

Love it
Are those Maverick bar preps/channels on that door? If so that could be really bad. Plus how do they service that exit sign that is recessed into the wall? Isn’t the back up battery cover for those on the bottom? Not that I’m sure that really matters as there is no way that door would be feasibly used for egress. Should have been fined more in my opinion.
It’s hard to tell but I think it’s possible. Lots of issues…
