Today’s Wordless Wednesday photo was sent to me by Lee Francisco and Jerry Rice of DH Pace.
The “Remove for Exit” bar makes this exit non-compliant because more than one operation is required to unlatch the door. It could also be considered to require special knowledge or effort. At least the velvet rope isn’t stretched across the opening, but the stanchions shouldn’t be there either.

Usually that would be because the degree of opening is different.
