Just Announced! I will be conducting my online Decoded course on behalf of the Door and Hardware Institute starting next week! There are 4 classes and they will be held once per month. It’s FREE for DHI members and each class qualifies for 5 DHI CEP points! Click here to register.
Today’s Fixed-it Friday photo came from Paul Cernak by way of Jeff Tock, both of Allegion. This serendipitous hold-open is currently in use in a school. I would not be at all surprised if it’s a fire door.

How is a hole for the door-knob working as a hold-open? And how old is this school that still allows knobs?
The knob just fits into the hole so the friction holds it there. This was not our school but we just got levers last summer.
