These Wordless Wednesday photos came from an anonymous fire inspector pal of mine (hopefully nobody recognizes him from the reflection of his legs in the mirror! 😀 ). This is very common in retail stores – the merchandise displays creep in and encroach upon the egress route, or inhibit the operation of fire doors (like this store in Maine).

Two things:
1 – At least they have the gates open.
2 – You can’t blame a man for trying to make a living shining boots.
The sign speaks the truth.
If you tried to exit through these doors you would immediately find yourself in an emergency.
“Help! I’m trapped in a vestibule! But the shine he is putting on those boots is impressive!”
By the way, your anonymous fire inspector is not so anonymous in the reflection outside. 🙂

Total ignorance is no excuse. Just out of curiosity, what is the poster below the exit sign? Looks like a size 2 mooning kid in size 12 boots and hat.
I have no idea what it’s advertising, but there’s no way I’d let my naked kid where my boots!
