I started this website a few months ago as a way to connect with our customers and help them find answers to their code questions. I have been amazed at the response to the site, from all over the United States and 18 other countries (and counting!). It really is a small world.
I received an email the other day that blew me away. It was in reference to this post about LCN special templates, where I used a photo that was given to me by an LCN engineer. I used the photo to illustrate a concealed closer incorrectly mounted so that it was visible through a cutout in the frame face. The email was from the company who installed the closer I had used as an example of “what not to do”. The amazing part was that the company is located in Israel!!
What are the chances that someone from so far away would log onto my site and see a photo of their own installation?? Apparently there were extenuating circumstances that required the closers to be mounted that way and there was a cover plate which was not in place when the photo was taken. My new friend, Eyal Bedrick of Entry Systems Ltd, is going to send me a photo with the cover plate installed. I should probably change my “what not to do” photo, but I may just keep it as a reminder of what a small world we’re living in.
Eyal sent me the MOST AMAZING PHOTOS of Doors Gone Wrong that I’ve ever seen, and that’s saying a lot! Check back Monday to see them!
Update: Here’s the photo with the cover plate installed.
