Just close the door!

Category: Fire Doors,VideosLori @ 2:51 pm Comments (2)

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote that we were close to a new daily record for visits to iDigHardware. Yesterday we surpassed the milestone with 2,233 visits!  This is quite a jump from the average number of daily visits, so I did some investigating and found that a link to iDigHardware had been posted on reddit, in a discussion about sleeping with the bedroom door closed.

Coincidentally, the video below was just posted on Facebook by the Greenwood Fire Department, and the photo even farther down the page was posted by Pine Point Fire Training.  Along with all of the other information that has been shared including UL’s Close Your Door Program, people are learning more about the importance of closed doors.

Keep spreading the news!

During last weeks training. We took the time to make a video about why you should sleep with your bedroom door shut. In this video we are in a bedroom with no smoke. On the other side we filled the entire house with smoke from our smoke machine. Just by sleeping with you bedroom door shut, you can keep smoke and fire out of your room for up to 30 min. You will see we checked the door with the back of our hand, then opened it. ALWAYS KNOW TWO WAYS OUT OF EVERY ROOM!

I have linked your site to reddit a couple of times in the past. I do it because your site is a great one! I couldn’t tell you if my links drove folks to your site or not (probably a little?) I can tell you how I found your site. I had a problem I was trying to resolve way back when and google sent me to you. I have been reading I dig hardware ever since.
