When someone wants to install an electromagnetic lock on the pull side of the door, I feel like it’s my civic duty to warn them that the installation will not be pretty. I was finally able to get a photo of this application in the T.F. Green Airport today, so I’ll be able to use it as descriptive evidence in the future.
Here’s a photo of a mag-lock installed on the push side of the door (the more common mounting location):
And here’s the one at the airport mounted on the pull side. Yuck.

I do what I can never to specify magnetic locks at all, but…If you must use a mag lock on an inswinging door and you need to get it out of the corridor, what choice do you have?
You may not have another choice so sometimes the TJ mounting is the only option, but I know some architects who would beat me senseless if I specified that application.
from a locksmith/service technicians point of view, the Architect
could use a good “beatdown” or at least a “Browbeating” when they
specify openings that have to meet some architectural/owner fantasy
and are a #@$#@$# to service.
Of course, we all know it’s never the hardware specifier. 🙂 🙂
No one messes with Lori or her fellow workers. They only are
trying to meet the requests of the Architect/Owner.
Ok, I’ve exhausted my allotment of Humor for the day.
