There’s no doubt that the door and hardware industry is complex, and the codes and standards add multiple layers of information that we need to stay current with.  Sometimes I wish someone would just give me a bulleted list of changes so I can easily absorb what I need to know.

In the August issue of Door Security + Safety Magazine, Karen Bishop of the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA) did just that!  Six BHMA standards have recently been revised, and a new standard on acoustic performance of operable hardware has been published.  Karen’s article breaks down the changes and gives an overview of the new standard.
