It’s hard to believe, but this week was my 19th anniversary with Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies. I started out with the independent manufacturers’ rep, MPS Sales, representing several of the IR product lines, and in 2001 we all joined the company as direct employees.
In the coming months we will complete our transition to a new company – Allegion! I’ll have more information on that soon, but I wanted to point out a new feature in the sidebar of my site…links to job opportunities with our company. If you or someone you know might be interested in joining our team, click on any of the links to take a closer look!
And now, for a funny story about getting an early start in the hardware industry. Many of you know of my daughter, Norah (who previously went by a nickname until I found out that it means something unpleasant on the internet). Norah just turned 7, and this morning she was spending a little quality time in the reading room when she yelled, “HEY MOM! I’M READING A MAGAZINE ABOUT DOOR HARDWARE AND YOUR PICTURE’S NOT IN IT!”
I told her to keep reading because my picture actually WAS in the magazine, with my monthly DeCoded article. If she reads Doors & Hardware from now until she graduates from college, maybe she’ll follow in my footsteps! 😀

Next month is 35 years for me.. They keep changing the address but I keep finding it…
Wow – 35 years! I usually work from my home office when I’m not traveling, so as long as they don’t turn off my email, I know I’m good to go! 🙂
19 Years!!! Wonderful! Congrats and thank you.
Thanks Beth!
