On May 9-11, I will be in Baltimore for DHI conNextions 2018 – the annual conference for Door Security + Safety Professionals. If you’re planning to attend the conference – great! I’ll see you there!
If you have not yet made plans to attend and you’re in the Baltimore area, I just found out about a great opportunity on Friday, May 11th for you to attend our Code Update Roundtable!
The Code Update Roundtable will be held on Friday, May 11, from 9 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. (Baltimore Convention Center – Room 307). Each attendee will receive a partial copy of the 2018 IBC, which you will use to find answers to realistic code questions working as a group. Work groups will be facilitated by my coworkers and myself. Together we’ll answer the questions, discuss the applicable code sections, review the intent of the requirements, and see what has changed from one version of the International Building Code to the next. It’s a great way to get familiar with the IBC, and to find out what’s new.
Note that this class is also being held on Thursday, but only the Friday class is open to one-day pass holders. The Thursday class is available to everyone attending the full conference, and you don’t have to pre-register for either of the classes if you’re attending the full conference.
The cost of the one-day pass to attend Friday’s code update roundtable is $35 in advance, $45 if purchased on-site. The one-day pass includes access to the exhibit hall AND the After-Party on Thursday, if you are able to arrive on Thursday and stay over (or come back) for the class on Friday morning.
4 AIA HSW credits and 6.5 DHI continuing education points will be awarded for completing this class.
If you’re interested in purchasing a one-day pass and attending the Friday class, here’s what to do:
