I had an architect actually send me this photo as a reference for gate closers. He would like to use a similar closer on gates at a court yard to a grass (astroturf area). Do you see an issue with the closer arm perhaps being stepped on and damaged, or tripped over, or an any other issues with this closer configuration? If not, any idea what closer manufacturer / model number was used in this picture?
LCN should be able to help you with a special template for this if you send them the photo. I don’t love this application, and the closer would definitely be more prone to damage or vandalism, but it does work. Engineering may have a better idea. Don’t forget to specify SRI.
