It’s Fire Door Safety Week in the UK, and although we don’t have an official week dedicated to fire doors in the US, I’m going to share some of the great information from the UK. Keeping in mind that the requirements for fire doors are a little different from one country to the next, check out this video (below), which demonstrates the value of a code-compliant fire doors vs. one that has a few problems. I don’t think most people understand how serious a “minor” fault can be and how it can affect the fire door assembly’s performance and ultimately the spread of smoke and flames.
