Some of the more attentive ihatehardware readers may have noticed a few little changes with the site lately.  For a long time I’ve been thinking about adding another domain name for my blog, indicating my true feelings about doors and hardware.  The original domain name, www.iHATEhardware.com, was chosen because almost all of the architects I work with hate or at least have an extreme dislike for hardware, so that URL is easy for them to remember.

I didn’t expect the site to become so popular with people who actually love, adore, like, or feel ambivalent about hardware.  Some readers may even feel disloyal to hardware when they type “ihatehardware,” and a few people accused me of being a hardware-hater!  There’s even another blog using the tagline, “I LOVE hardware, because life is too short to hate.”  Oh well, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?

I like hardware.  I think it’s interesting, and there’s always something new to learn.  I like to understand the code requirements, design new applications, and help people learn about doors and hardware.  I’m an ambassador for hardware to the rest of the world, not a hardware-hater!  So I’ve created an alternate domain name for those of you who like hardware too – www.iDIGhardware.com.  Groovy, huh?  Both domain names point to the same information, so you won’t miss anything.  If you previously subscribed to an RSS feed for ihatehardware, you will need to re-subscribe to the new site.  You can also sign up (sidebar right) to receive an email when there’s a new post.
