WW: Flint Memorial Hall, North Reading MA

I love this building – Flint Memorial Hall.  It was built in 1875 as “the largest, most elegant, and most modern building North Reading had ever seen.”

The front entrance isn’t much to write home about, but check out the side entrance.  This pair has to be around 9′ tall and I don’t think it’s much more than 3′ wide.

And for the Eagle-Eyes out there…yes!  only 3 hinges per leaf!  Egads!  🙂

May only be three hinges, but they seem to have lasted 135 years! It’s hard to argue with success.

I used to go to that library when I lived in North Reading & thought the same thing – it’s beautiful!!! If I remember correctly, they have Von Duprin exit devices on those front doors. 🙂
