Caño Negro

SlothsYesterday we went to Caño Negro, a wildlife refuge near the Nicaraguan border.  I saw no doors of note, but I did see a mother sloth with her baby, which was SO COOL!! We saw tons of other animals including iguanas and other lizards, caymans, white-faced and howler monkeys, at least 20 different kinds of birds, and 3 other sloths.  It was a really great day.

Today we drove to Monteverde, on the worst road I’ve ever been on.  It was a dirt road for many, many miles, and in some areas the road had begun to erode away.  It was a nail-biter and we were so happy to finally reach Santa Elena.  I found some beautiful doors here, which you can see below.

I will try to write more tomorrow as long as I have internet access.  I have so much to write about!

Really cool design. They look like they are outswing doors. Did you notice if they are hung on pivots or invisible hinges?

I’m pretty sure the doors were inswinging. They were locked when I took the picture.
